The Write Choice

Written by Daysha Veronica, ‘The Write Choice’ follows an insecure, young black writer who, after losing her parents in a tragic car accident, goes to clean out her childhood home and discovers a photograph that inspires her to write her first play. After submitting her play to a new works program that her theater idol won years ago, she is stunned to discover that her play was selected. And even more in shock when she shows up for the staged reading and discovers that her cast was not what she had originally envisioned. So, she must navigate the complicated power dynamics of race, the theatre, and the weight of her own conflicted "inner voices" to bring her true vision to life.
